mission statement

I'm currently studying my second year in a Photography BTEC course at cronton six form college. So far i have studied numerous subjects and themes within the course. i have enjoyed most assignment that we have covered, alien brief and working with media make-up, documentary brief, and the location brief we are working on now are just some i can pick out.
My interests involve socialising with friends and family, as these are the people who motivate me the most.
I enjoy photography and taking my own images of things that interest me outside of college.  As much as I enjoy photograph, I find I want to persist a career in a helping profession in counselling psychology.
Ive taking great care into finding information about this type of course anf feel its right for me.

I’ve been looking at a few universities and find I want to take a full time counselling/ psychology course.
The universities that i have looked at are edge hill, central lancashire, chester and salford. edge hill and chster are the two i would like to start the most as they both are very successful colleges and are great for socail activities out side of university.
I have been thinking about taking a gap year as there is so much I want to do and enjoy before going to university also I find taking a year out and getting through everything I want to do will get it from out my mind, letting me concentrate on my university course.
Long term I would like to see my self in a career in counselling preferably working for the NHS or a practice.
I find after the 2-year counselling course I want to persist on to the honours degree for another year.
As I want to do a counselling course and not photography, I’m not quite sure I how I’m going to use my blog to forward my personal professional goals.

  3. forensic
  4. event
fashion
fashion photography is a career i have picked because it's something i enjoy, i started doing textiles in school which is more as making the garments than taking shots of it but it something i've always liked and photography played a big part in the course.

information
fashion photography is something thats need time and can't be rushed, patience is a things that always a need when doing the career also working closely with the client or the magazine who commissioned them. along with the art directors and editors.
salary is also something that everyone wants to know about, i've taken a look at different websites on the internet and found that the average salary for fashion photography is £30,000 working as a more productive and a well known photographer you can earn up to £75,000.
skills required
technical expertise: you have got to be able to work with 'SLR' camera's and use programs like 'photoshop' and other sites known for editing or touching up images.
networking skills: joining fashion photography organizations will be something you would have to  get in to.
creativity and style:
having your own sense of style and being an individual is a must have and being noticed for it is a great way to start.

photographers that specialize in fashion photography you should take a look at.
Wedding
wedding photography is another career i have considered being because of the atmosphere and different positions and places you can visit.
Backgrounds and poses is something i specialize in and wedding photography would be ideal but there's more i'd like to learn.

information
if your interested in wedding photography it isn't  something you can take lightly, i think you have to have a good idea of what you need in a photograph to produce a good one.
people don't pay for a photographer who doesn't know what there doing as their wedding day is a special day and the turn out of their photographs effects their whole day.
skills required
Being able to work with the people and socializing to help them along when taking their photographs.
Also some skills are built by the ones who come before and the techniques that was used to tell a story.
sense of composition and color.
The love of your mistakes in a photograph can make you learn from your errors and then learn to make it better.
salary most wedding photographers charge from £850+ but some believe in charging less as not everyone can afford these big prices for photographers such as ''

photographer that specialize in wedding photography:
Event
event photography is basically everything from sport's, parties, promotional events really any event.
This is a very good career if you are looking to do more of a broader range of photography or even if you can't choose a certain career path.

skills required
the skills needed to become an event photographer is that you need to know health and safety and selling techniques, you also need to be able to work with the client when doing shots like portraits at such events as proms and weddings.
a good event photographer is multi-skilled a salesman and be able to work programs such as photoshop and also the correct equipment.
lighting and poses are also something you should be skilled in as its the lighting and poses that sell.

salary
Most event photographers charge by the hour, they usually charge there own prices from around the £250+ mark.

The business is getting the work and how to sell when on location, but never forget selling after the event.

forensic
forensic photography is really different compared to the other careers i have talked about.
